Frittajon: Vacation - Eagels Nest

We camped in Germany but very close to the Austrian border. Actually we went though Austria to get to the German camp site called "Allweglehen". Its located in the national park of Berchtesgaden in Bayern. We love the Mountains and the nature there. The camping was Ok without being fantastic. Eventhough we have booked a long time in advance we ended up getting a campsite with the trailers since the tent sites was sold out. It mean again a rocky underground but at least more even then Legoland. And at least the powerstation was reachable.

The first day we took the car and intended to drive up to the Eagle nest (Kehlsteinhaus). We found it was not possible by car. You have to park and then take a bus up there. So we did that together with many other busses (8 busses was operating that route). It added a couple of hours to the tour that we hadn’t planned for. But the good part of vacation is that we do not stress over it, since we didn’t have a tight program planned.

The view was FANTASTIC as you will see in some of the other pictures.

I could so much live here (but only in the summer since Im not a snow person)

The kids loved the view and raw nature as well

Kehlsteinhaus was build as a birthday present for Adolf Hitler in 1932, and it was used to bring diplomats there for meetings. It is said that Adolf Hitler himself didn’t go there often.

Here you see the house from the parkinglot of the busses.

I have no idea how he got to the house but later a tunnel and a lift was build into the mountain so at least we could easy access it (besides having to wait in the line)

The tunnel was long and cold. And in the end there was a long line of people waiting to go up with the lift.

Finally up at the house we could enjoy the view from the top of the mountain

The kids were fearless and could easily look down in the abyss.

The nature was just so simple and beautifull.

The Watsmann that we were surranded by are mountains.The hightst of them is the third highest in Germany, and the highest located entirely on German territory.
Three main peaks array on a N-S axis along a ridge on the mountain's taller western half: Hocheck (2651 m), Mittelspitze (Middle Peak, 2,713m) and Südspitze (South Peak, 2,712m).
The Watzmann massive also includes the 2307 m Watzmannfrau (Watzmann Wife), and the Watzmannkinder (Watzmann Children), five lower peaks in the recess between the main peaks and the Watzmannfrau.
