Vacation - Break in the car - 28. July 2012

 Well arrived in Lido di Jesolo just in time for a late dinner we emptied the car besides the top box which was full of camping equipment and a thermal bag inside the car full of kitchen things.

1 hour later Marco remember he forgot a cable for his iphone and goes to the car.

There have been some one who broke into the car and they got away with our kitchenbag. For me sad because I acutally had a lot of tuppeware in it. For the theifs probably bad too, since I guess its not of

worth to them either.

Worst is the repair cost of the two broken windows = 700€ :(

Now the car was parked in a public parking lot with many other cars. But our car was the only non Italian and the only one that was broken into.

Afterwards we paid the high prize of 10€ per day for having our car parked in a more safe place.

Vacation - Postonia - 28. July 2012

 Our main reason for visiting Slovenia was because Marco would like to see the caves of Postonia.

We arrived at lunch time and after a refreshment we found our way to the caves.

We expect to very famous in China now since a camera crew was following us and a chinese group all the way.

 We had taken long trouses and a shirt for the kids with us since we expected the caves to be cold. while walking to the caves it was problaly around 38 degrees so they were sweating like crazy.

Coming inside the first part of the cave we doudted if the cloth for the kids was enough so we rented some coats for the kids. The man for the renting was very happy for Iris and kept her on his arm for a while. She was a little doubting of the situation.

 We came to the small but very long train that should take us to the inside of the caves.

 The tour took about 15 minutes.

I have carried Ale for most of the tour we walked (I guess 40 mins ) and finally Marco took over. My arm was numb.

On the trainride out Iris woke up again.




This is the end of our first week vacation and of our solitude. Now we drive to Lido di Jesolo to spend a week at the beach with Marcos family.

Vacation - Ljubljana - 27 -28. July 2012

 Leaving the Alps and driving towars Slovenia. the car is hard packed and the kids are tired.

 Being in a area we have not been before the history from the schoolbooks gets alive.

 Arriving in Ljubljana. We rent an appartment only a few minutes walk from downtown.

 Cozy atmosphere and only few tourists.

 Stop.

 Still parts of the inner city have to be renovated.

 There was a street theater in Slovenian telling the storey of Little Red-cap in a non viliont way

 The kids loved it even though they didn't understand the words.

 Hmmm sobody needs some sun on his arms

 The inner city is very cozy... the rest of the city i would not like to live in.

 No stress - just enjoy.

 I was the one being brave this time and ordering a dish of unknown slovenian cooking history. It tasted very well but the Soup was very warm and I was not really into this "winter"dish, so Marco gave me the left over of his pizza and he eat the rest of my soup with great pleasure.

The highlight of the day was to meet a group of Breakdancers perfoming on the street. Our kids was sold out. The kids danced and imitated for real. Especially Ale really have a talent for it.

 The next day we went to the castle down town and very close to our apparment

 the kids climbed and old canon and Ale knew it was a fireweapon. Funny we have never talked about that kind of things at home nor played that kind of games. Most be education from the kindergarden.

 The castle has been very well restored and a well made for tourists visit as well.

 There was sunchairs and a free libraby there so we set down and read some slovenian books

 It turned out we didn't need to pay a fortune to get into the castle with the monorail. On the back side it was easy and free of charge to get in :(

 Since we have already paid for the monorail we take it back down again enjoying the view over the city.

 Iris is a little angry

 The appartment we stayed in was on the ground floor at the building, just to the right of the entrance.

In general the appartment was perfect. They have just forgot to add the things that disappears over time like cutlery and pots so there was not chance for us to eat there. And then it was dirty. Well I guess they have vacumcleaned before we came but the spiderwebs and the dirty walls and floors was not nice. However we paied a price for it as we would have done in any other big city so we felt very cheated.
